The Classroom is Ready

Today I went into school. I was meeting with my new partner teacher. I wanted to make sure she got a quick tour and saw where her room was, as well as where my room was. While I was there, I decided to get it set up. Fortunately for me, we have an amazing maintenance team who cleans and takes care of our school all summer. I was pleasantly surprised to find the desks and chairs set up in the room, rather than stacked against the wall. That made my job much easier.

As I think about the year ahead, I try to make the classroom inviting and peaceful. I have kept my beach theme for several years now, and it seems to fit. This year, I tweaked a few things, cleared a few things, adjusted some furniture, and now it is ready……ready for the 46 young minds that will walk in and sit down ready to see what we can accomplish for the 180 days we are together. For now, it is ready. I am sure it will change as the year goes on, and as we, the classroom community, decide it needs to change.

So, for now, welcome to Portable 10. I hope we can learn and grow and love each other along this journey that will be the 2019-2020 school year.
